Why buy property in Parkmore?
Here is a little information about the suburb. Parkmore is one of a few suburbs in the area with name Park. It is a pretty suburb with the open spaces of George Lea Park and the Field and Study Park. The Braamfontein Spruit with its walks adds to the quaint village atmosphere. It is bounded by Graystone Drive to the west, Sandton Drive to the south and William Nicol to the east, so access to Sandton and the City is easy, quick and good.

Parkmore property presents an excellent investment opportunity in Johannesburg's trendy northern suburbs. It is an affordable, family welcoming, residential area. Homes were mostly built in the late 1960s and 1970s. Several homes have been modernised and updated, yet remain at entry level pricing when compared to homes in the affluent and upmarket areas of Sandton.
Home design of the original Parkmore homes is simple and modest generally but Parkmore is an ideal location for access to Sandton business district. Homes may be plain, but they are not small and gardens are spacious, established and well treed.
Parkmore has several modern townhouses in gated communities and affordable sectional title units. Several of the streets are gated or boomed off which adds security to the area. Several of the homes are three or four bedrooms, plenty of space for pets and children, enclosed and secure gardens with swimming pools. Parkmore is an area where value for money is achievable.
Sandton Gautrain station is close and provides easy access to OR Tambo , Pretoria and Johannesburg CBD. Centrally located, prime Parkmore real estate is ideally located in Johannesburg's northern suburbs.
Parks and Eco Escapes
With a suburb name Parkmore, you would expect parks and natural hiking trails.
The George Lea Park is home to the Sandton Sports Club. The Field and Study Centre and Park are rural wilderness areas with open grasslands and indigenous flora. The Braamfontein Spruit Hiking trail
The Braamfontein Spruit Trail is suitable for children, and is a walk of 9 km. It starts close to the Field and Study Centre. The trail leads north and is an extremely beautiful and peaceful walk, with plenty of wildlife, bird life and trees and plants.
The members only River Club Golf Course is on Parkmore's northern boundary.
Parkmore Facilities
There are several schools and shopping facilities within Parkmore. Excellent education is provided by a number of schools. Established well known Government schools that service Parkmore include Montrose Primary, Bryanston High, Sandown High and Hyde Park High. The Field and Study Centre hosts a Montessori nursery school, with a choice of an additional five nursery schools in the suburb including Tiny Tots and Fast Trac. Private schools that service Parkmore include St Davids, Varsity College, the french school Lycée Jules Verne de Johannesburg and Redhill.
The Morningside and Sandton Clinics provide essential health care, while Benmore Gardens Shopping Centre, Pick n Pay on Nicol and Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square off plenty of shopping opportunities.
Erwins Restaurant, a Parkmore institution, is a must visit for Sunday carvery lunch.
